VVA Boys 12U 2025 Summer Add-On Tryouts

Saturday, April 12th 9:00am - 11:00am at the Valley Athletics facility (5097 E Dakota Ave., Fresno, CA 93727)

This tryout is for all 12U players interested in playing for Valley Volleyball Academy for the 2025 Summer Season. The 12U age group is typically for boys entering the 6th grade. Please double check the age definitions below before signing up:

- If an athlete is 18s eligible by age but graduated high school, they may compete in 18s provided they have had no practice or competition with a collegiate program of any level.
- If an athlete is 18s eligible by age but is a Junior in High School they may compete in 17s.
- If an athlete is 15s eligible by age but is in the 8th grade they may compete in 14s.
- If an athlete is 14s eligible by age but is in 7th grade they may compete in 13s.

18 & UNDER
Players who were born on or after July 1, 2006 (including high school graduates eligible based on the above paragraph)
OR
Players who were born on or after July 1, 2005 and a high school student in the twelfth (12th) grade or below during some part of the current academic year are eligible to compete on 18 and under teams.
17 & UNDER
Players who were born on or after July 1, 2007
OR
Players who were born on or after July 1, 2006 (18 years or younger) who shall neither have completed nor are in a grade higher than the eleventh grade (11th) during the current academic year will be allowed to participate in the 17 and under age division.
16 & UNDER
Players who were born on or after July 1, 2008
15 & UNDER
Players who were born on or after July 1, 2009
14 & UNDER
Players who were born on or after July 1, 2010
OR
Players who were born on or after July 1, 2009 (15 years or younger) who shall neither have completed nor are in a grade higher than the eighth grade (8th) during the current academic year. (This exemption is based on the net height difference of 7'4 1/8'' to 7'11 5/8'' between the 14 and Under Divsion to the 15 and Under Division.​)
13 & UNDER
Players who were born on or after July 1, 2011
OR
Players who were born on or after July 1, 2010 (14 years or younger) who shall neither have completed nor are in a grade higher than the seventh grade (7th) during the current academic year.
12 & UNDER
Players who were born on or after July 1, 2012
OR
Players who were born on or after July 1, 2011 (13 years or younger) who shall neither have completed nor are in a grade higher than the sixth grade (6th) during the current academic year.
11 & UNDER
Players who were born on or after July 1, 2013
10 & UNDER
Players who were born on or after July 1, 2014
9 & UNDER
Players who were born on or after July 1, 2015
8 & UNDER
Players who were born on or after July 1, 2016

Athletes are expected tryouts in their entirety. Please arrive at 8:30am to check in and warm up. Team selection will be notified through email. If selected for a team, there will be a commitment meeting at the facility April 14th 3:30pm - 5:00pm


What to do if you can't make your tryout date?
Please still sign up for tryouts in your age group even if you cannot make the tryout date. It is VERY IMPORTANT to email us right away and let us know of your conflict. Please make sure to send your email to both of the following email addresses:

100% enrollment fee back 2 weeks in advance
50% enrollment fee back 1 week in advance
0% enrollment fee back less than 1 week from start date
